TAGM Data Engineer

KBR offers a hybrid Data Engineer and Analytics Steward role based in Redstone Arsenal, AL, focused on building end-to-end data pipelines, governance, and data quality. You will deliver actionable insights through Power BI dashboards while managing the underlying database infrastructure. This position combines hands-on data engineering with governance discipline, providing opportunities to influence how data supports critical decisions across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and sustain scalable data pipelines and architectures.
• Extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources into centralized data warehouses or data lakes.
• Automate manual data processes and optimize the data delivery infrastructure.
• Establish and enforce data governance policies, data quality standards, and compliance controls.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for data inquiries, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and security across the organization.
• Maintain data catalogs and metadata repositories.
• Create, publish, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Translate complex business requirements into intuitive data visualizations, leveraging advanced DAX and Power Query for end-user modeling.
• Architect, query, and manage relational and non-relational databases; monitor performance, perform routine maintenance, and troubleshoot data infrastructure issues.
• Develop highly optimized SQL queries to support both engineering pipelines and reporting tools.

Requirements

• Three to five years of professional experience in data engineering, database administration, business intelligence, or data governance.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance.
