System Identification Software Developer

This role focuses on building production-quality algorithms and software for system identification, dynamic system learning, and online estimation. You will work primarily in MATLAB and Simulink, applying machine learning and AI approaches to develop and validate methods for real-world engineering problems.

What You Will Do

• Develop core algorithms for system identification and online parameter and state estimation
• Create machine learning and AI methods for learning linear and nonlinear dynamic system models
• Build MATLAB and Simulink workflows and engineering apps, including AI-enabled skillsets and specialized AI agents
• Implement and test production-quality software, with support for Simulink and Simulink Coder workflows
• Develop examples and workflows that demonstrate new capabilities on representative engineering problems
• Plan and communicate development activities using two-week sprint cycles, contributing across the full lifecycle from research and discovery through design, implementation, testing, and product delivery

Key Responsibilities

• Algorithm development for online estimation and system identification
• AI and ML method development for dynamic system learning
• Workflow and app development in MATLAB and Simulink, including agentic tools
• Production-quality implementation and validation, including Simulink Coder support
• Technical updates and sprint planning to align discovery, design, testing, and delivery

Required Qualifications

• Knowledge of linear and nonlinear dynamic systems
• Experience with system identification, parameter estimation, and machine learning or deep learning
• Knowledge of Kalman filtering, state estimation, or recursive estimation methods
• Ability to present technical designs, results, and development status to colleagues
• Education requirement: bachelor's degree
• Experience requirement: 3 years of professional work experience (or master's degree, or equivalent experience)
