Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain SQL database systems that support manufacturing operations
- Optimize and monitor MS SQL Server databases, ETL/ELT integrations, CDC, replication, and GCP components including BigQuery, DBT data models, and Iceberg archival to ensure performance and availability
- Drive database best practices and support data modernization initiatives by adopting advancing technologies such as AI and MCP
- Develop and maintain monitoring tools and processes to proactively identify and address database issues
- Implement and maintain ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and replication solutions to provide near real time data solutions globally for efficient storage and retrieval
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to gather requirements, design systems, and implement database solutions including stored procedures, schema design, data contracts for APIs, and a data dictionary to support manufacturing software
- Work with the Microsoft SQL Server stack and the GCP stack (SSIS, SSRS, PowerBI, PolyBase, BigQuery, Datastream, Cloud Storage, BigLake Iceberg tables, Cloud SQL, DBT)
- Partner with R&D, Operations, Process Engineering, Quality Assurance, Contract Manufacturers, and other stakeholders to enable data access for reporting and integration
- Collaborate with IT security to maintain PKI HSMs used for key management and cryptographic operations, assisting in configuration, installation, and ongoing maintenance
- Document solutions and train DBA teams on common issues and best practices
Requirements
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment
- Detail oriented with a commitment to maintaining updated documentation
- Working knowledge of data management tools such as Jira, Jama, and Confluence
- Strong written and spoken English communication
- Creative problem solver with careful attention to detail
- 5+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server and fluent in SQL Server 2012+
- DBA experience or solid understanding of DBA best practices and replication
- Nice to have: experience with BigQuery, Iceberg, DBT, open table formats or similar technology; knowledge of VMware and SQL Server 2022
- Nice to have experience with Siemens Camstar

Remote Workplace
Your home office serves as your primary workspace. A hybrid arrangement may be available if you reside within commuting distance of a Dexcom site. Flex workplace options can be discussed.
Travel
Travel is expected to be 0 to 5 percent of time.
Experience and Education
Typically, candidates hold a technical degree with multiple pathways to senior roles: a PhD with 2 to 4 years of related experience; a Master’s degree with 5 to 7 years; or a Bachelor’s degree with 8 to 12 years of related experience. A PhD is noted as part of the education requirements for this role.
Salary
USD 128,600 to 214,400 per year.
