Job Description
News Corp is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to strengthen the Realtor.com Content team and support systems that make valuable data usable at scale. This role focuses on shipping code that powers content ingestion, processing, and publishing across realtor.com and a publisher network, with an emphasis on reliable, AI-supported workflows.
Working in an Austin, TX onsite environment, you will contribute to mission-critical platform development through full-stack development and operational ownership. You will also help improve developer experience on AWS-based architectures by streamlining CI/CD and automation.
What you’ll do
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and fellow Engineers to deliver high-impact solutions aligned with business value
- Set the standard for engineering execution by championing process improvements that improve code quality, team efficiency, and delivery predictability
- Mentor and coach engineers across levels to build a culture of growth, ownership, and engineering excellence
- Design, build, and maintain user-centric application features that support intuitive and delightful experiences
- Design, develop, and operationalize scalable backend services, data pipelines, and distributed systems using modern AWS data architectures
- Use AI and automation to improve data quality, monitoring, and operational efficiency
- Improve developer experience by enhancing the toolchain, automating infrastructure provisioning, and streamlining CI/CD pipelines
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend tools or frameworks that improve architecture, performance, or developer productivity
- Work in a primarily Agile/Scrum product development process
What you bring
- Proven record of delivering high-quality products and writing clean, maintainable code in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Self-starter approach with the ability to manage projects independently, prioritize effectively, and set clear stakeholder expectations
- Full-stack expertise, including hands-on experience building and maintaining scalable frontend and backend systems
- High attention to detail, strong design awareness, and a commitment to exceptional user experiences
- Deep respect for data, with a meticulous focus on accuracy, consistency, and integrity across the system
- Programming proficiency in languages and frameworks such as Python, Go, JavaScript, and ReactJS, with willingness to learn new technologies as needed
- Cloud and platform experience across development, deployment, and architecture, including CircleCI, Kafka, Kubernetes, GraphQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and AWS services such as EC2, S3, and RDS
- Exposure to build, test, and deployment automation technologies
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment best practices
- Exposure to monitoring systems, incident alerting, and service reliability practices supporting SLAs
- Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and schema or database design
Education and experience
- Minimum: 5+ years of experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Master’s degree is a plus
