Job Description

Senior Principal Software Engineer and SW Engr Product Owner on the C2BMC program, onsite in Colorado Springs, CO, with a salary range of USD 129,300 to 193,900 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the C2BMC-G software development team to design and test innovative solutions that support Missile Defense Agency projects and experiments.
  • Define and oversee the product vision, roadmap, and backlog to deliver measurable value and align with business objectives.
  • Understand customer needs, prioritize features, and partner with development teams to achieve successful product releases.
  • Prepare for non-standard work hours during event execution; some travel may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university with 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree with 6 years of relevant experience; or 12 years of relevant work experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Current, active in-scope DoD issued Secret clearance at the time of application, with ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • Willingness to travel 10% of the time for business needs.
  • Demonstrated contributions to object-oriented software development and testing, including the ability to translate high level needs into a structured set of requirements that lead to a fielded product.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to present technical methods and findings, and experience writing and executing engineering plans within projects.
  • Proven skills in:
    • Developing new software capabilities
    • Java or other object-oriented languages
    • Object-oriented development principles and patterns
    • Creating comprehensive and reproducible tests
    • Strong written and oral communication
    • Understanding software development processes and communicating capabilities to a diverse group of developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and system users
    • Adapting to rapidly changing requirements, novel design challenges, fast-paced work, and tight deadlines
