Embedded Software Engineer - Level 4 - Space AHT

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to support the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program as part of the work supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). In this individual contributor role, you will provide technical contributions and guidance to software products supporting the design and development of the GWS capability.

This position is based in Huntsville, AL and is onsite. The requisition may be filled at multiple grade levels based on qualifications, with a primary salary range of USD 135,800 to 203,600 per year.

Role Overview

• Provide technical contributions and guidance to software products supporting the design and development of the GWS capability for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
• Support the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program as an individual contributor.

Requirements

• Education and experience: STEM B.S. with 8 years of relevant experience; STEM M.S. with 6 years of relevant experience; STEM PhD with 4 years of relevant experience.
• Security clearance: Must have a current active in-scope US Government issued Secret security clearance at the time of application (required to start).
• Experience with the Atlassian tool suite and version control tools such as Git and Bitbucket.
• Experience working in a DevOps environment.
• Ability to neutrally assess and decompose open-ended technical problems into action plans with defined success criteria.
• Experience developing modeling and simulation software or debugging complex software systems.
• Experience with languages such as Python, MATLAB, C++, ADA, or JAVA, with C++ experience required.
• Experience applying Object Oriented Design, SOLID design principles, or software design patterns.
• Ability to support an in-person / closed-area work environment.

Preferred Qualifications
