Software Engineer Staff (Secret Clearance)

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Software Engineer Staff to join on-site in Colorado Springs. In this role, you will design, develop, and test software within agile teams focused on missile defense systems, working with Java applications on Linux and addressing cybersecurity considerations. A final secret clearance is required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new Java applications and maintain existing Java software
• Support software testing and resolve issues across multiple baselines
• Perform in-depth analysis and provide technical support for systems software products, including complex problem resolution
• Translate system specifications into operating system level applications
• Assist with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of programs
• Coordinate with other system support groups
• Produce software design artifacts and participate in design and code reviews

Requirements

• Final secret clearance required for consideration
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics or related technical field
• Proficiency in at least one modern language (C++, C, C#, or Java), with a preference for C++
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
• Proficiency with a Version Control System (Git)
• Software development experience in a Linux environment
