Software Engineer, SDK
Job Description
Rad Hires is building SDK tooling for top technology teams, and this role helps take it from strong foundation to broad scale. You’ll work on SDKs used by developers in real production workflows, partnering with leadership as the team grows.
Location: Hoboken, NJ (onsite). Experience: 4+ years. Compensation: USD 170,000–230,000 per year.

Responsibilities
- Drive feature parity across SDKs, including advanced capabilities such as auto-pagination and server-sent events
- Expand SDK support into new languages by building generators (for example, Swift, Rust, Terraform)
- Contribute across multiple codebases using TypeScript, Go, and Python
- Collaborate with leadership to help grow the team through recruiting and mentorship
- Define what “high-quality SDK” means in your target language: idiomatic, easy to use, and reliable
- Own core components of an open-source compiler to add features and improve developer experience
- Stay current on language-specific tools and libraries, and engage with developers via GitHub and community forums
- Play a key role in hiring and mentoring as the team scales
Requirements
- 4–10 years of professional software engineering experience
- Deep expertise in one of: Java, PHP, Python, TypeScript, or Ruby (for specialists)
- Broad technical fluency and ability to contribute across different languages (for generalists)
- Experience in fast-paced startup environments; prior founder experience is a plus
- Strong product thinking with empathy for developer experience
- Eagerness to work in a polyglot environment
