Base-2 Solutions is hiring a Software Engineer Level 4 to develop and enhance complex software systems in mission-focused environments.

Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems including processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, and manipulation of extremely large data sets.
Support real-time systems and business management information systems based on documented requirements.
Contribute to software component design, including hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, and evaluating use of COTS/GOTS versus new development.
Perform requirements analysis and synthesis from system-level needs down to individual software components.
Design and implement software applications, or perform software engineering tasks as assigned.
Apply software engineering and design methodologies appropriate to development, integration, and production environments.
Deliver software engineering capabilities using industry standards and repeatable processes.
Mitigate risks and help control costs and schedule variance on large-scale, integrated software projects.
Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements and document test results.

Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
Demonstrated experience as a backend developer.
Demonstrated experience in data engineering and API development.
Experience building scalable systems using Python and FastAPI.
Experience designing and managing PostgreSQL databases using efficient SQL and indexing strategies.
Proficiency in Python.
Proficiency in FastAPI.
Proficiency in PostgreSQL.
Proficiency in Elasticsearch.
Experience building high-performance API connections between high-speed, high-volume, mission-critical, data-sensitive systems.
U.S. citizenship required.

Experience supporting processing-intensive analytics environments.
Experience working with extremely large data sets.
Experience supporting real-time systems.
Experience contributing to software design decisions involving software reuse, COTS/GOTS, and system-to-component requirements analysis.

PhD with 5 years of experience.
High School Diploma/GED with 13 years of experience; Associates Degree with 11 years; Bachelors' Degree with 9 years; Masters' Degree with 7 years.
