Software Engineer III
Job Description
Join Sparksoft Corporation to design, develop, test, and deploy software applications supporting CMS efforts to detect and prevent fraud, waste, and abuse in a SAFe Agile environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy software applications using Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies.
- Participate across the Agile lifecycle, including planning, estimation, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Follow coding standards and best practices; perform code reviews and write comprehensive unit tests.
- Collaborate with product owners, Scrum Masters, DevSecOps engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues with root cause analysis and preventive measures.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for software applications and processes.
- Improve software development processes and tools to increase efficiency and quality.
- Lead architecture and implementation of secure, scalable, resilient enterprise applications; set architecture and coding standards; guide technical decisions and mentor engineers through design reviews and pair programming.
- Drive complex initiatives from requirements through production release, managing technical risks and dependencies, and coordinating with cross-functional partners to meet performance, security, compliance, and business objectives.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software development experience with strong focus on Java and Spring Boot.
- Expert proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, RESTful API development, microservices architecture, and the ActiveMQ message broker.
- Containerization experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Ability to define API contracts using OpenAPI/Swagger and maintain consistent API design standards across services.
- Experience with synchronous and asynchronous service communication using ActiveMQ, Amazon MQ, and SQS.
- Experience with GitHub and CI/CD using Jenkins.
- Test automation experience with Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, and Cucumber.
- Working knowledge of SQL, Python, Bash scripting, Linux, AWS services (Amazon MQ, SQS, S3, EC2, EKS, RDS, CloudWatch), and Terraform (infrastructure as code).
- Experience with databases and data modeling, including PostgreSQL and Oracle.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Apache JMeter, Grafana, Splunk, DataDog, and CloudWatch.
- Knowledge of analytics tools including AWS QuickSight and Elasticsearch.
- Experience with Agile methodologies (SAFe, Scrum) and tools (Jira, Confluence).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, Agile environment.
- Public Trust clearance: candidates must be able to obtain and maintain clearance.
- Residence requirement: candidates must have lived in the United States 3 out of the past 5 years.

Preferred Experience
- SAFe Agile Certification.
- Experience in healthcare IT (CMS) and understanding of regulatory requirements such as HIPAA.
- Experience and/or knowledge of CMS processes and standards.
- Experience developing responsive, dynamic, interactive user interfaces using Angular and React.
- Experience converting UI/UX wireframes and prototypes into functional applications.
