Software Engineer III
Job Description
Software Engineer III within Google's Discover Ads Formats team in Mountain View, CA (onsite) develops product and system software, engages in design and code reviews, and contributes to documentation for ads infrastructure and large-scale platforms.
Responsibilities
- Develop software for product features and system functionality.
- Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to select appropriate technology solutions.
- Review peers' code, providing guidance on style, correctness, testability, efficiency, and proper version control.
- Update and enhance existing documentation and educational materials in response to product changes and user feedback.
- Triage issues, debug, track, and resolve root causes with consideration of impact on hardware, networks, or service operations and quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 2 years of professional software development experience in Python or C++.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- At least 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Experience implementing video playback on iOS or Android platforms.
- Experience with full-stack development.
