Job Description

Costco Auto Program is hiring a Software Engineer II for an onsite role in San Diego, CA. This mid-level position focuses on designing and developing systems-level software while also supporting deployments and resolving production issues in partnership with cross-functional teams.

The role combines technical delivery with documentation and coordination. You will contribute to engineering specifications and system design artifacts, assist with debugging and system support, and help keep project work aligned with timelines managed alongside a Project Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate directly with the client to create engineering specifications
  • Flow chart program logic and document system design
  • Work with database administrators and database analysts to develop and design database tables and stored procedures
  • Debug system code, including code authored by other programmers
  • Assist with mentoring programmers to help raise overall competency
  • Maintain current knowledge of new software technologies
  • Provide support for deployment and software configuration
  • Coordinate closely with a Project Manager to manage project timelines
  • Research, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues in the system
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with C# .NET programming (experience using Visual Studio 2005 or greater)
  • 2+ years of experience with ASP/ASP.NET
  • Fluency in JavaScript, VB, VBScript, and HTML
  • 2+ years development experience with XML
  • 2+ years development experience with Microsoft SQL Server
  • Scrum and Agile Methodology experience
  • Team Foundation Server
  • Unit Testing / Test-Driven Development experience
  • Build Automation
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software knowledge
  • Automotive Service Industry domain knowledge
  • Call Center Operations domain knowledge
  • Flexible and team-oriented; able to work independently and as a team member
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • May be required to work nights/weekends as needed

Compensation & Location

  • Location: San Diego, CA (onsite)
  • Salary: USD 123,000 - 130,000 per year
