Software Engineer II

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. is seeking a hands-on Software Engineer II to contribute to DynamoDB from our Seattle campus. This role centers on end-to-end ownership of features within a large-scale distributed NoSQL database, guiding you through requirements gathering, design, implementation, code reviews, operations, mentoring, and continuous improvement. Location: Seattle, WA (onsite). Salary: USD 143,700 - 194,400 per year.

Responsibilities

• Gather and refine requirements for new features
• Develop and review designs, and participate in design reviews
• Implement software solutions and conduct code reviews
• Deliver incremental feature launches and iterate based on feedback
• Manage day-to-day operations and ensure system reliability
• Mentor peers and contribute to team growth
• Drive continuous improvement across processes and practices

Requirements

• At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
• At least 2 years of non-internship design or architecture experience focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scaling
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 3 years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
