Job Description

State Farm seeks a software engineer to modernize legacy systems within the Enterprise Technology Complex Claims Suite by leveraging AWS. This hybrid role combines remote work with in-office collaboration, based in Bloomington, Illinois.

Overview

  • Hybrid work arrangement with time split between home and onsite at a nearby hub location.
  • Location options include Bloomington, IL; Richardson, TX; Tempe, AZ; or Dunwoody, GA.
  • Salary range: USD 85,500 to 110,000 per year.
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of software development experience.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as JavaScript or a framework like Angular.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, for example Python.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services including Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, and S3.
  • Experience using GitLab CI/CD pipelines and familiarity with effective branching strategies.
  • Proven ability to apply software development best practices across design, documentation, testing, security, and DevOps.
  • A willingness to learn new technical concepts quickly and share knowledge with the team.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to break down complex technical problems.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
