Job Description

Build secure, reliable software for credit unions and community financial institutions while delivering backend, API, and integration capabilities for BankSocial’s platform.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs that power BankSocial products
  • Model data, write efficient queries, and improve performance and reliability of production services
  • Develop responsive web and mobile features in collaboration with product and design
  • Write maintainable, well-tested UI code and contribute to shared components
  • Build and maintain integrations with credit union core systems, payment networks, and third-party financial service providers
  • Apply security, data privacy, and regulatory requirements (including NCUA, BSA/AML, PCI DSS) to integration and data-handling work
  • Create automated tests, participate in code reviews, and support CI/CD pipelines and production releases
  • Partner with engineering, product, compliance, and partner institutions to troubleshoot and resolve production issues
  • Use AI agentic coding tools to plan, write, test, and refactor code; review and validate AI-generated changes before production

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 3-5+ years of professional software development experience; fintech, banking, credit unions, or financial services experience preferred
  • Proficiency in at least one backend language (TypeScript/Node.js, Python, Java, or Kotlin) and a modern frontend framework (React or React Native)
  • Experience with REST APIs, relational databases (SQL), Git, and a major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Experience with core banking systems, payment processing, or NCUA regulations is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with Node.js, Python, and Kotlin
  • Day-to-day use of AI agentic coding tools and workflows (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot)
  • Background at a financial institution (bank or credit union) or a similar regulated financial services environment

Compensation: USD 70,000 - 100,000 per yearly
