Software Engineer

Thomas & Reed, LLC is hiring a Software Engineer in Columbus, OH (onsite) to build modern, cloud-connected applications with a strong emphasis on user experience (UX) innovation. In this role, you will help enhance existing products and deliver new solutions using internet-connected and cloud-based tools, with a focus on creating intuitive, high-performance software that supports product differentiation and customer satisfaction.

What you will do

• Plan, design, develop, and validate software systems and applications centered on UX innovation
• Improve existing products and develop new solutions, particularly across cloud-based platforms and internet-connected tools

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 5+ years of software development experience
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, and C++, applied across diverse development environments
• Experience in front-end and back-end development, with a solid understanding of full-stack architecture and integration
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including Kanban and Scrum, with practical experience in iterative development and team collaboration
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud, including deployment and service integration
• Knowledge of database management systems, including SQL and NoSQL technologies, for efficient data modeling and access
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex technical issues and propose effective solutions
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities for effective teamwork across multidisciplinary groups
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines
• Hands-on experience with GUI development using modern tools and frameworks, with a focus on usability and performance
• Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices to support secure design and implementation
