Job Description
Auria is seeking an early-career Software Engineer to help build a satellite resource management system. This role focuses on designing, building, testing, and improving software within a delivery cycle. The position can be remote or hybrid, with a preference for candidates in Colorado Springs, CO or Bethesda, MD.

Compensation
USD 120,000 - 140,000 per year. Salary is based on the selected candidate’s qualifications, including skills, education, experience, and position level.
Summary
In this role, you will contribute to the development of software modules and enhancements that support program delivery. Responsibilities include unit testing, code review, component integration, defect debugging, and improvements based on findings from integration and review.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop new software modules or enhancements aligned with software requirements
- Develop unit tests and participate in code reviews
- Integrate and test software components as part of the program delivery cycle
- Debug software and correct defects identified during integration, testing, and review
Requirements
- Mission-driven, collaborative contributor motivated to develop cutting-edge solutions that protect and serve
- Proven experience designing and developing robust, maintainable software using C++17 or newer
- At least 2 years of experience with Linux and C++17
- Strong understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
- Experience with version control and collaborative workflows using Git
- Experience using CMake
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, such as probability & statistics, linear algebra, and multivariable calculus
- Background in, or exposure to, software application development on Linux and Web platforms
- Exposure to agile and incremental software engineering practices

Preferred Qualifications (Team Preferences)
- Experience with Boost, Google Test, Google Mock, or Python is a plus
- Project exposure to satellite communications fundamentals (GEO/MEO/LEO systems, link budgets, RF propagation, ground segment architecture) is a strong differentiator
- Experience developing mission-critical software
- Bachelor’s degree or greater in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical degree, with demonstrated experience
