Software Engineer
Job Description
Thomas & Reed, LLC seeks a Software Engineer in Columbus, OH onsite to plan, design, develop, and validate UX focused software and cloud based solutions, including enhancements to existing products and new internet connected tools.
Responsibilities
- Plan software systems and applications with a focus on UX innovation
- Design software architectures and interfaces centered on user experience
- Develop software systems and applications that emphasize UX excellence
- Validate usability oriented software solutions and ensure quality
- Enhance existing products with new features and improvements
- Create new cloud based solutions and internet connected tools
- Build intuitive, high performance UX applications
- Support strategic product differentiation and elevated customer satisfaction
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Proficiency in Java, Python, and C++ across multiple development environments
- Experience with front end and back end development, with solid full stack understanding
- Familiar with Agile methodologies including Kanban and Scrum, with iterative development experience
- Hands on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud, including deployment and service integration
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database technologies for data modeling and access
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities to troubleshoot complex technical issues and propose effective solutions
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills enabling effective teamwork across multidisciplinary groups
- Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Hands on GUI development experience using modern tools and frameworks with a focus on usability and performance
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices ensuring secure design and implementation
