Software Engineer

Midwest Engineered Systems, Inc. seeks an experienced Software Engineer for an onsite role in Waukesha, WI. The position centers on enterprise, on-premises software within manufacturing and industrial environments, blending hands-on development with cross-functional collaboration, exploration of ML and AI, and deployment to on-premises systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement solutions using C#, Blazor, and RESTful APIs
• Architect scalable on‑premises software with robust database design
• Integrate software with PLCs, HMIs, and MES platforms
• Lead code reviews and establish engineering standards
• Oversee project scope, timelines, and Jira-based tracking
• Drive exploration of ML and AI, as well as robotics, for the product roadmap
• Translate business requirements into precise technical specifications

Requirements

• Minimum five years of software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in C#, .NET, and Blazor
• Experience designing, implementing, and integrating RESTful APIs
• Relational database experience with SQL Server and PostgreSQL
• Experience deploying and maintaining on‑premises software
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum practices and Jira project management
• Preferably with PLC/HMI and MES integration experience
• Exposure to ML frameworks and CI/CD pipelines is a plus
