Job Description
Seal Dynamics, a HEICO company, is hiring an entry-level Software Developer to help build and connect the systems that run day-to-day business operations. This on-site role in Hauppauge, NY (Long Island) focuses on SQL (T-SQL), C#/.NET services, and REST API integrations, with ongoing work that brings AI capabilities closer to real business data.
You will collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams to understand what they need before implementation, then deliver improvements across databases, internal web applications, and containerized development and deployment workflows.
What you’ll do
- Write, test, and tune T-SQL queries, views, and stored procedures against ERP and line-of-business databases
- Build and maintain C#/.NET applications and services
- Build and consume REST APIs to integrate core business systems with each other and with outside partners
- Contribute to AI integration efforts by connecting LLM APIs and MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers to business data so users can ask questions of real systems
- Write Python for data work, automation, and AI-adjacent tooling
- Support and enhance internal web applications
- Work in containerized development and deployment environments
- Partner with people in purchasing, warehouse, sales, and finance to understand requirements directly
- Follow source control, code review, and change management practices, including helping improve them
Required qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience (bootcamp, military, self-taught with a portfolio)
- Working knowledge of SQL, including writing a multi-table join, understanding what an index does, and knowing why SELECT * in production code is a bad habit
- Familiarity with at least one object-oriented language, with C# preferred (Java, Python, or VB.NET experience also applies)
- Basic understanding of how REST APIs work: requests, responses, JSON, status codes, and authentication
- Basic familiarity with source control (Git/GitHub)
- Clear written and verbal communication to ask the right questions with non-technical stakeholders
- Curiosity and initiative: research before escalating and flag problems early
Helpful but not required
- Python beyond the basics, especially for data or automation work
- Hands-on work with LLM APIs, MCP, RAG, or embeddings, including personal projects
- Experience using AI coding assistants on real code, plus the judgment to review output
- Docker or other containerization experience
- Power BI, DAX, or other BI and reporting tools
- React or another modern front-end framework
- ERP development experience (Infor SyteLine / CloudSuite Industrial a plus)
- EDI or other B2B partner integration experience
- Exposure to distribution, manufacturing, inventory, or warehouse systems
- Aviation or other regulated-industry experience
