Software Developer (Java)

Work on mission-focused software development and orchestration for a full motion video platform supporting actionable intelligence for the Intelligence Community.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Software Developer SME applying current technology and providing operational support to deliver actionable intelligence for the Intelligence Community
• Support development of systems and capabilities for a comprehensive motion imagery software suite
• Meet mission needs while upgrading to cutting-edge technologies aligned to program technical vision for FMV (full motion video)
• Create and maintain orchestration templates, including modifying templates from unclassified teams into classified environments
• Deploy microservices and macro services using NodeJS or JBoss
• Manage communication endpoints using gRPC or REST
• Manage and perform bug triage for legacy applications built with AngularJS
• Debug and troubleshoot applications in customer space
• Leverage messaging engines and high-availability (HA) clusters
• Use and manage containers and orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Manage scalability for deployed software products
• Use JIRA to track daily, sprint, and increment metrics, performance, and backlogs

Requirements

• Java experience including AOP and IOC
• JavaScript experience with React/Redux and AngularJS
• SQL, NoSQL, and Graph data experience
• C++ experience
• Experience with microservice API development and integration (including gRPC/REST)
• Strong use of ETL concepts and ETL engines to decouple solutions
• Experience with GraphDB, SQL, and NoSQL data modeling, visualization, and querying
• MS SQL Server, OmniSci, and Accumulo/Hadoop preferred
• Reactive application development in a web browser
• Ability to write and manage large applications using React/Redux, rxJS, and Reactive Streams
• Debugging and troubleshooting experience in customer space
• Experience leveraging messaging engines and HA clusters
• Kafka streams and KsqlDB
• Experience using and managing containers and orchestration such as Docker/Kubernetes, including creating and deploying containers and managing orchestration
• Demonstrated scalability management for deployed software products
• 10+ years of relevant experience (may vary based on technical training, certification(s), or degree)
• Proven problem-solving skills in complex environments
• Skilled at applying and executing highly advanced technologies, principles, theories, and concepts
• Willingness to learn in one discipline/field and build working knowledge in adjacent disciplines/fields
• Proficient understanding and application of engineering principles, concepts, practices, and standards
• Experience developing within an Agile framework (Sprints, Demonstrations, Scrum)
• Ability to communicate issues, impacts, and corrective actions
• Ability to communicate project topics to diverse audiences
• Ability to clearly report relevant information
• Ability to anticipate technology, process, and skill needs

Salary

• USD 170,000 - 230,000 per yearly
