Senior Staff Software Engineer, Integrations (Tech Lead)
Job Description
ServiceNow is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer (Tech Lead) to lead integrations work within the IAM platform space. This onsite role in Santa Clara, CA focuses on designing, building, and maintaining integration services that bring identity and access related data from external systems such as AWS and Okta into the Veza platform. You will also guide backend engineering teams and set technical direction for scalable connector architecture.
What you’ll do
- Design, develop, and build integrations with services such as AWS, GCP, and Azure, along with resources including Box, Hashicorp, and Databricks, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Lead a team of backend software engineers through mentorship and technical guidance.
- Drive the technical direction for assigned projects by defining architecture, design patterns, and best practices, while leveraging latest AI/ML models for integrations.
- Partner with Product, Solutions Engineering, Support, and customers to translate requirements into connector designs and prioritize the integration roadmap.
Qualifications
- Experience leveraging or critically thinking about integrating AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving, including AI-powered tools, workflow automation, analysis of AI-driven insights, or evaluating AI’s potential impact on the function or industry.
- Typically requires 12+ years of related experience, or an advanced degree with 8 years of backend software development experience focused on areas such as data modeling, management, identity, security, or related work.
- Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Golang and/or Java.
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
- Experience with optimization, building database and storage layers, or working on distributed systems.
- Experience building pluggable modular software that enables code decoupling.
- Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL), caching mechanisms, and distributed systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
