Job Description

Quantum Health is hiring a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to build high-performance patient and provider web experiences within its broader product ecosystem. The role emphasizes Ruby on Rails and React, with ownership across backend services, API design, and engineering quality through testing and standards.

Role Focus

You will lead technical delivery of APIs and end-user functionality for patient and provider applications. The position also supports continuous improvement of development practices, with a strong emphasis on web performance, responsive UI patterns, and clean code complexity trade-offs.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the technical vision and deliver high-performance APIs and end-user experiences using Ruby on Rails and React.
  • Contribute to evolving software development and testing standards to raise technical excellence across the team.
  • Partner closely with Product, Design, and Engineering to ship high-impact features while balancing UX quality with maintainable code complexity.
  • Perform all other duties assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, MIS, CS, or equivalent, or similar experience.
  • 7+ years building and shipping scalable web applications across the full software stack.
  • Experience with React, TypeScript, and modern UI patterns, with a focus on web performance and responsiveness.
  • Strong backend experience, including designing clean APIs using GraphQL and/or REST, and establishing efficient data-fetching models.
  • Proficiency writing SQL for relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL.
  • Hands-on automated testing experience across layers using RSpec, React Testing Library, Cypress, and Playwright.
  • Experience with modern deployment pipelines, including CI/CD and GitHub Actions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an iterative Agile environment with minimal direction.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, including the ability to articulate technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation to support platform reliability outside standard hours.
  • Commitment to protect user data by following data security, privacy, and ethical technology practices.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent and ongoing future basis without requiring sponsorship.

  • Prior experience in healthcare and building integrations across the broader US health system.

This position may work remotely anywhere in the United States of America.
