Senior Software Engineer C#

Neptune Technology Group Inc. is hiring a Senior Software Engineer in Altoona, PA to help build and evolve software used by customers. This role focuses on designing and implementing features across both existing products and products that are still being defined, with opportunities to mentor teammates and collaborate closely with Product Management and Architecture.

Working in an iterative delivery environment, you will contribute production-ready code, tests, and bug fixes, while also supporting other departments and participating in automated acceptance testing for new functionality.

What you’ll do

• Collaborate with other team members to deliver high-quality software
• Understand and enhance requirements defined by Product Management
• Support Product Management and Architecture in determining solutions for customers
• Implement code and test automation that make up new features
• Fix product bugs and provide patches for previously released versions
• Review code written by other development team members
• Prioritize work effectively with minimal guidance
• Demonstrate completed work at the end of every development iteration
• Work with other team members and the Quality Assurance team to design and implement automated acceptance tests for new features
• Create and modify web services using RESTful interfaces
• Perform performance tuning and troubleshooting, including remote troubleshooting
• Create and modify build definitions

Position focus

• Design and implement features that modify existing software products
• Design and implement features for products that do not yet exist
• Provide support to internal departments and directly to Neptune Technology Group customers
• Mentor less-experienced staff and share new technical knowledge within the organization
• Partner with Architecture and Product Management to shape application features

Requirements

• Understanding of Domain Driven Design
• Expertise with C# or other .NET Framework language
• Experience with RESTful web service
• Experience in an iterative development environment
• Experience with high-availability environments
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or combination of education and experience
