Job Description

CEGSoft is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design, development, testing, and ongoing improvement of software applications. The role emphasizes collaboration across product, UI/UX, and engineering teams, with a focus on scalable architecture, robust code quality, and mentoring colleagues. This onsite opportunity in San Juan, Puerto Rico offers a salary range of USD 70,000 to 76,000 per year and is open to candidates located in Puerto Rico.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and enhance high-quality software applications in line with Agile principles.
  • Build scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions using best coding practices.
  • Collaborate with product, UI/UX, and other teams to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with company goals.
  • Engage in the full software development lifecycle, including planning, development, testing, delivery, and documentation.
  • Design and maintain databases, prototypes, and software architecture that support business growth.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in collaboration with the engineering team.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, provide project updates, and contribute ideas to improve products and team processes.
  • Mentor and support other engineers, promoting continuous learning and strong development practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Five or more years of proven experience as a Software Engineer, or equivalent knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to work across all areas of an application, including front-end, back-end, databases, and infrastructure.
  • Experience with a variety of software development approaches and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience in both architecture-level and implementation-level software design.
