Job Description

BaseCamp Franchising is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help evolve its proprietary software suite that powers key operations across its franchise ecosystem. In a hybrid role based in North Salt Lake, UT, you will deliver new features and improvements within a Shape Up lifecycle, collaborating with engineers, QA, UX, and product management, while mentoring teammates to raise the bar for quality and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver new features and fixes across the full technology stack
  • Build a deep understanding of BaseCamp’s proprietary software suite, which combines a point-of-sale system, a product appraisal tool, and an inventory management module
  • Own software quality by writing unit and integration tests and by manually testing your own work and peers' changes
  • Improve reliability and performance across BaseCamp’s software products
  • Contribute to refining release processes and practices
  • Assist front-line teams in troubleshooting and resolving bugs as needed
  • Play an integral role in the Shape Up software development life cycle
  • Mentor teammates through coaching and support
  • Communicate effectively, collaborate with the team, listen actively, and value others’ ideas
  • Participate in on-call rotations or escalation for critical software incidents

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience building web applications
  • Strong understanding of one or more modern backend languages and frameworks
  • Extensive experience with modern frontend frameworks and API technologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Resourceful with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to produce high-quality code without reliance on an LLM
