Senior Software Engineer at Melon Local leads AI augmented tooling across a .NET backend and React frontend in a remote-capable role.

Conceive and blueprint features across Azure Functions, two Web APIs, an ASP.NET MVC web app, and a customer-facing React frontend served via a .NET Backend-for-Frontend that consumes the same Web APIs.
Lead AI assisted development as the primary implementation method, guiding AI outcomes with a strong architectural mindset.
Make cross-system integration decisions, including API contracts, BFF aggregation approaches, and the allocation of responsibilities among Azure Functions, Web APIs, and the MVC app.
Debug end-to-end by tracing issues from the React UI through the BFF and Web APIs down to SQL Server.
Review AI-generated and AI-assisted code from yourself and peers, identifying subtle defects, architectural drift, or pattern violations.
Participate in architecture discussions and code reviews as a peer among engineers, not a directive lead.
Use AI coding tools as a daily core capability rather than a curiosity.

Minimum 5 years of professional .NET development experience with hands-on work in the past year.
Strong command of C#, .NET Core / .NET 8+, ASP.NET MVC, Web APIs, and Razor; capable of building from scratch if needed, though daily work may leverage AI-assisted tooling.
Hands-on experience with Entity Framework Core, including DI of DbContext, LINQ queries, migrations, and performance patterns; able to explain DbContext registration and usage from memory.
Proficient with SQL Server, including writing queries, understanding indexes, reading execution plans, and identifying N plus 1 problems.
Experience with React for the customer-facing frontend.
Familiarity with Azure Functions or other serverless patterns.
Strong architectural intuition across related services; able to map a feature spec to impacted projects.
Has already shifted to AI-augmented development and is enthusiastic about using AI as a primary implementation method.
Comfortable both validating and producing code.
Plans implementation end-to-end before writing prompts.

Daily AI tooling is not part of your workflow or you prefer to code everything by hand.
In the last six months you have primarily managed engineers, set strategy, or performed architecture work without hands-on implementation.
Reading and assessing a typical 200-line .NET pull request or AI-generated code would be challenging for you.
You are seeking a staff or principal architect role that directs others rather than delivering features yourself.
Your experience does not span multiple related .NET projects such as APIs, MVC web apps, serverless functions, and BFFs.
You are skeptical that AI augmented development is the future of professional engineering.

Location: Remote, based in the Salt Lake City, UT or Las Vegas, NV metro areas, or within a reasonable driving distance to support occasional in-person collaboration.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, full-time.
Reports to: Software Engineering Manager.
