Senior Software Engineer
Job Description
This role positions a senior software engineer with Applied Research Associates in the Fort Bragg, NC area to lead the development of OTIS based tactical software within an agile environment. The work spans mobile and web platforms, geospatial and mapping, communication and situational awareness, and cloud and mesh technologies. An active Secret clearance with TS/SCI eligibility within 30 days of hire is required.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop advanced applications to address tactical requirements from the DoW.
- Operate effectively both independently and as part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team.
- Support software engineering practices, including technical design and documentation.
- Code development across assigned components.
- Analyze and integrate third party solutions into existing architectures.
- Plan and execute tests and debugging to ensure quality.
- Manage configuration management processes to maintain system integrity.
- Deliver quality solutions using a secure yet agile software development lifecycle across the following focus areas:
- Modern mobile and web platforms
- Geospatial and 3D mapping
- Communication and situational awareness
- Cloud and mesh environments
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field with at least 10 years of software development experience, including substantial recent work in one or more high level programming languages
- Ability to systematically test and debug software
- Desire and ability to quickly learn new domains
- Security+ certification, or ability to certify within 6 months of hire
- Strong team orientation and excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential in a collaborative environment

Experience
Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in software development.
Education
