Senior Software Engineer
Job Description
Senior Software Engineer (SEG3) on a Naval Sea Systems Command contract, onsite at the Washington Navy Yard with limited telework and travel.
Responsibilities
- Analyze user needs and craft software solutions employing computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis principles.
- Update or enhance existing software capabilities to meet evolving requirements.
- Collaborate with project management, acquisition, logistics, security, and other disciplines to integrate hardware and software, develop specifications, and define performance requirements.
- Maintain databases within the application area.
Requirements
- Secret Clearance ability required
- Certification requirements: None
- High school diploma or GED plus twenty (20) years of relevant Surface Radars, Electronic Warfare, EO/IR, Decoys and/or Laser software system/subsystem design, development, production and/or test experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, scientific, or technical discipline plus fifteen (15) years of relevant Surface Radars, Electronic Warfare, EO/IR, Decoys and/or Laser software system/subsystem design, development, production and/or test experience
- Master's degree in engineering, scientific, or technical discipline plus ten (10) years of relevant Surface Radars, Electronic Warfare, EO/IR, Decoys and/or Laser software system/subsystem design, development, production and/or test experience

Work Location and Telework
The government work location is the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC. Contractors will be required to work at the Navy Yard and in nearby office locations up to 5 days a week. Teleworking may be possible with customers’ approval but will need to evolve as work relationships change.
Travel Requirements
- Travel should be infrequent but may include occasional trips to support government efforts on East and West Coast naval-centric areas such as Norfolk, VA and San Diego, CA.
Compensation
Salary range: USD 125,000 - 150,000 per year. Compensation is determined by location, the individual’s education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.
