Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Liine is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to expand and scale its data analytics and marketing analytics platforms. This role focuses on building scalable machine learning platforms and NLP and LLM-based systems, connecting them to backend services, and helping shape ML strategy in collaboration with engineering and product.

Location

Raleigh, NC (hybrid)

• Preferred: candidates able to work from the downtown Raleigh office
• Remote: exceptional remote applications will be considered
• In-office schedule: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
• Remote option: Tuesdays and Thursdays

What You Will Do

• Research, develop, evaluate, deploy, and monitor scalable ML platforms and pipelines
• Build and maintain NLP systems, including training and fine-tuning language models, entity resolution tools, and LLM-based classification systems
• Review code and support software development best practices within Liine’s standard SDLC
• Integrate and update backend APIs, microservices, and data pipelines to connect to ML platforms
• Contribute to machine learning strategy, model architecture, and the evolution of ML systems and team practices
• Partner with engineering and product to deliver machine learning features that create real value

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of machine learning experience
• Using AI tools as a core part of the way you build, as a default approach
• Proficiency in Python and key data science libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and PyTorch
• Ability to prototype solutions for novel, open-ended problems and turn them into reliable systems
• Experience deploying machine learning models into production environments (MLOps / ModelOps)
• Experience with feature engineering, feature selection, and model architecture design
• Experience working with large distributed systems and data pipelines
• Strong attention to detail
• Communicates honestly and transparently
• Works effectively in a high-output, high-excitement environment
• Comfort solving complex problems at scale
• Approach includes enjoying work on hard problems
