Job Description

Motion Recruitment is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Engineer for a Boston, MA hybrid team. In this hands-on role, you will help shape scalable AI platforms and advanced agent-based systems, with an emphasis on production-ready autonomous workflows and LLM-driven capabilities for enterprise products.

You will work across the full lifecycle of AI development, from architecture and distributed machine learning services to building agentic applications and semantic retrieval pipelines that support dependable generation.

Role summary

  • Highly hands-on engineering position focused on creating, productionizing, and maintaining sophisticated AI and ML capabilities for enterprise research applications
  • Design and enhance distributed machine learning services and scalable platform components
  • Build agentic applications, semantic retrieval pipelines, and supporting orchestration frameworks
  • Develop and improve LLM applications and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) capabilities for enterprise use

What you will do

  • Create, productionize, and maintain AI/ML capabilities for enterprise research applications
  • Architect and enhance distributed machine learning services and scalable platform components
  • Build agentic applications, semantic retrieval pipelines, and orchestration frameworks
  • Partner with software, platform, and security teams to deliver AI systems that are dependable, secure, and high-performing

Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of machine learning systems and autonomous agent design
  • Hands-on experience creating LLM applications and RAG solutions
  • Practical experience with vector search technologies and vector data stores
  • Familiarity with production ML operations, monitoring, and deployment practices
  • Strong Python development skills
  • Working knowledge of AWS infrastructure and Kubernetes environments

Education

Experience

  • Preferred: At least 12 years of software engineering experience, or 8 or more years combined with a PhD
