Senior Machine Learning Engineer

A Senior Machine Learning Engineer on Indeed's Sourcing team, focusing on production ML/AI solutions to enhance automated outreach and Sourcing capabilities while strengthening LLMOps reliability, all from a remote location.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver end-to-end ML and AI initiatives, including prompt engineering and evaluation, training models, enabling LLM-as-a-Judge features, and building recommendation and ranking systems.
• Improve and scale LLM and ML models in production and conduct iterative A/B tests to enhance the Sourcing product.
• Assess business impact of AI and ML efforts and balance fast delivery with thoughtful infrastructure investments.
• Collaborate across functions with Machine Learning Engineers, Data Scientists, Software Engineers, Product teams, and UX designers/researchers.
• Define and implement evaluation, observability, and production monitoring for ML and LLM-based systems.
• Serve as a trusted partner across teams, translating technical concepts to enable productive collaboration.
• Mentor fellow Machine Learning Engineers, Data Scientists, and Software Engineers on the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics with at least five years of relevant experience; or Master’s with at least three years; or PhD with no required experience.
• Proven success deploying impactful ML or LLM-based solutions to large-scale production systems.
• Strong foundations in data structures and algorithms.
• Demonstrated ownership and accountability as a core contributor in technical and product areas.
• Experience with agent orchestration frameworks, LLM observability tools, and prompt optimization techniques such as GEPA.
• Hands-on experience with deep learning libraries and modern ML/LLM tooling, including PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• Familiarity with modern ML system design, including evaluation, experimentation, and production monitoring for predictive and LLM-based systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, effective with both technical and business audiences.

Salary: USD 138,000 - 289,000 per year
