Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Senior Machine Learning Engineer on TikTok's Recommendation team, building and deploying end-to-end ML systems to strengthen the US market.

Responsibilities

• Design and refine recommendation models that enhance user experience and shape the platform’s content ecosystem.
• Construct ML systems and data pipelines that address key product challenges at scale.
• Own end-to-end ML stacks, guiding development, maintenance, and ongoing improvements.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to shape product strategy and deliver US market growth initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree or higher in computer science or a related field with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ and Python, with solid data structures and algorithms knowledge and hands-on experience building large-scale production systems.
• Practical background developing ML systems using at least one major deep learning framework such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience in applied ML, ML infrastructure, large-scale recommendation systems, or market-facing ML products.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation

• Annual base salary: $156,000 – $387,600
• Compensation may vary based on qualifications, skills, experience, and location. Total package may include discretionary bonuses/incentives and restricted stock units.
