Job Description

Join Amazon’s Selling Partner Insights and Analytics (SPIA) team to architect and evolve AWS data infrastructure for Paragon, combining hands-on engineering with technical leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Design and operate scalable, cost-effective data pipelines and infrastructure on AWS, curating datasets for reporting, analytics, and machine learning workloads
  • Define logical data models and system architectures to support worldwide growth, anticipating data access patterns and reducing bottlenecks before they affect customers
  • Lead design reviews and collaborate with directors, VPs, and cross-functional partners to align data architecture with business strategy and long-term technical direction
  • Set and maintain data engineering standards covering data modeling, lineage, governance, and operational reliability to ensure consistency and data quality across systems
  • Coach and mentor other data engineers, supporting professional development and strengthening team technical capabilities

Requirements

  • 5+ years of data engineering experience
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
  • SQL experience
  • Experience with at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
  • Experience mentoring team members on best practices

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and EMR
  • Experience operating large data warehouses
  • Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, analytics, mathematics, statistics, IT, or equivalent
  • Experience building and operating highly available, distributed systems for data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large datasets
  • Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring engineers on best practices for data engineering
  • Experience communicating with business users, technical teams, and senior leadership to gather requirements and describe data modeling decisions and data engineering strategy

Compensation

  • USD 154,600 - 209,100 per year

A day in the life

  • Split time between hands-on engineering and technical leadership
  • Mornings may include reviewing pipeline health dashboards, triaging data quality issues, or pairing with teammates on complex ETL problems
  • Afternoons often focus on design discussions with partner teams, reviewing architecture proposals, or sharing data strategy updates with senior leadership
  • Regularly evaluate how team data solutions can evolve to support agentic AI workloads and recommend architectural changes that shape the roadmap
