Senior Data Engineer
Job Description
This onsite Senior Data Engineer role at Everforth, based in San Francisco, CA, focuses on designing and operating scalable, real-time data pipelines and data models to support clinical monitoring and ML workflows. You will build integrations with EHRs, medical devices, and hospital systems, deploy in AWS with Snowflake and MySQL, and work within a HIPAA-compliant environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines that ingest data from EHR systems, medical devices, and hospital information systems
- Develop integrations using APIs, webhooks, and CDC-style ingestion patterns
- Transform and normalize data for downstream platforms such as MySQL and Snowflake
- Create high-throughput, reliable pipelines that support both real-time streaming and batch processing
- Handle core healthcare data including ADT events, clinical data, and vital signs
- Collaborate with internal teams and customers to onboard data and improve reliability
- Design data models that serve both application needs and analytics use cases
- Optimize performance and scalability across Snowflake and MySQL environments
- Deploy and operate data systems within AWS
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for production pipelines
- Maintain production systems and continuously improve reliability
- Work within a HIPAA-compliant setting with team support
- Collaborate with machine learning teams on feature pipelines and ensuring data quality
Requirements
- Minimum five years of experience in data engineering or backend development
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
- Proven experience building end-to-end production-grade data pipelines
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake and MySQL
- Experience with APIs, webhooks, or CDC-style ingestion
- Experience operating in AWS or equivalent cloud environments
- Experience handling sensitive or regulated data is a plus
