Job Description

Fisher Investments Technology is seeking a Senior Application Developer to join the Charles River Development CRIMS team in Plano, Texas on a hybrid schedule. This role focuses on delivering CRD enhancements, integrations, and automation, leveraging Java, Python, C#, SQL, REST APIs, and CRD APIs to support portfolio management workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full lifecycle of CRD enhancements, from requirements and design through configuration, integrations, testing, deployment, and ongoing support
  • Set up and tailor Manager Work Bench or Central Work Bench layouts, workflows, rules, and result sets
  • Work hands-on with the Charles River API Framework frontend, including UI workflows, triggers, and CRD interaction points
  • Work hands-on with the Charles River API Framework backend APIs, covering data calls, order submissions, guideline checks, reference data, and trading flows
  • Build and maintain integration workflows using REST APIs, services, and messaging frameworks
  • Apply knowledge of portfolio optimization concepts, including risk models, constraints, exposures, and transaction cost analysis
  • Familiar with industry optimization platforms such as Axioma for portfolio construction and risk model integration, and OMEGA Point for optimization and risk analytics
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Engineering teams to support optimization workflows feeding CRD
  • Ensure Start-of-Day readiness for CRD and maintain ongoing system stability
  • Translate requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications, user stories, diagrams, and interface documentation

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Application Development
  • Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries and performance tuning
  • Proficiency in Java or C#, with the ability to interpret, collaborate, and support integrations
  • Experience with REST API integration, testing, and troubleshooting
  • 5+ years of Python programming experience
  • 5+ years in the Investment/Wealth Management industry
  • 3+ years of CRD or other Order Management System (OMS) implementation/customization, plus Workbench (Manager or Central) configuration experience
  • Experience with OMS batch automation, including monitoring and exception handling
  • Hands-on experience with the Order Management System API Framework (frontend and backend)
  • Familiarity with portfolio optimization concepts (risk factors, constraints, optimization models)
  • Experience with optimization tools such as Axioma and OMET/Gap Point
  • Experience with Order Management workflows, markets, and trading processes (Equities & Fixed Income)
  • Experience using Agile SDLC, process diagramming, and workflow mapping
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent

The Opportunity

You will support Charles River driven workflows across Portfolio Engineering, Optimization, Guidelines, Implementation, Trading, and Trade Operations, collaborating with Portfolio Managers, Traders, and Technology teams to implement CRD enhancements, API integrations, portfolio optimization workflows, and automation solutions. The role reports to the AVP of PMG Technology Services.

The Day-to-Day
