SAP Technical Developer

Spearhead SAP technical delivery for Summit Utilities with a primary focus on SAP IS-U, spanning design, build, integration, and support in a hybrid Fort Smith, AR setup.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop SAP technical solutions that map to business and functional requirements.
• Work with system integrators and SAP to shape technical approaches and system architecture.
• Estimate effort for assigned work to support team planning and project management.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Design, implement, and support Summit’s ERP landscape with a focus on high availability and disaster readiness.
• Own the full software development lifecycle: requirements analysis, configuration, development, testing, debugging, conversion, and deployment.
• Deliver ongoing technical support and continuous improvements for ERP systems.
• Serve as a technical lead within project delivery teams.
• Mentor and coach junior developers and team members.
• Lead ERP integrations for newly acquired entities to help ensure seamless transitions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 5 years of SAP IS-U ABAP development experience.
• Broad understanding of SAP IS-U components including FI, CO, FICA, DM, EAM, and C4C.
• Experience with collective accounts, data migration, and conversion projects.
• At least 2 years of experience with SAP S/4HANA implementation and support.
• Strong understanding of SAP IS-U business processes and integration points.
• Strong fit for cloud-enabled environments with familiarity in Azure or AWS.
• Prior experience in the utility industry is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP or ERP certifications.
• Experience with SAP Fiori apps, SAP BTP, and SAP Private Cloud Edition.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Deep understanding of the Meter to Cash lifecycle.
• Knowledge of Business and Technical Master Data, Customer Interaction, Billing, Meter Reading, Disconnections/Reconnections, and Bill Print processes.
• Proven experience designing and implementing best practice SAP IS-U solutions.
• Strong experience working with REST/API/OData services.
• Familiarity with integrated SAP platforms including SAP C4C, SAP FSM, SAP Ariba, SAP Concur, and Integration Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted advisor relationships across IT and business stakeholders.
• Strong presentation, facilitation, and conflict resolution capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
