Research Software Engineer I (Onsite)
Job Description
RTX (BBN Technologies) is hiring a Research Software Engineer I to build prototype software for advanced research efforts, working in a hybrid onsite setup in Cambridge, MA.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a small team on cutting-edge R&D projects spanning AI-based planning and scheduling (including joint all domain command and control context)
- Develop prototype software using latest open-source technologies
- Contribute to novel compiler development, including LLVM passes
- Support OS-related capability development such as kernel modules and userland services
- Incorporate feedback from end users, field tests, and exercises
- Explore technical possibilities with motivated, world-class colleagues
- Deliver practical solutions to complex problems
Requirements
- BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a STEM major, completed by the start date
- Experience with Java and/or C, Linux, basic Networking, and Cloud Integration
- Experience with distributed systems, middleware, and AI
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance
- U.S. citizenship required because only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- DoD Secret clearance: Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

- USD 57,200 - 108,800 per year
