Mortgage Data Analyst/SQL Data Warehouse Developer
Job Description
SVS Group is hiring a remote Mortgage Data Analyst/SQL Data Warehouse Developer to support the EPIC program transition from a customized LoanServ environment to an industry-standard SaaS platform. This contract position combines SQL data warehouse development with business analysis, migration support, and cross-workstream project coordination, with travel to Oklahoma City required during the project.
Role Focus
The role centers on designing and implementing data warehouse tables and backend data-layer solutions while also translating business needs into technical specifications. You will support solution design and validation across EPIC workstreams and help drive modernization and migration activities throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Design SQL specifications for new data warehouse tables, including defining table structures, writing and optimizing queries, and supporting development and post-build testing
- Collaborate with Corporate Technology teams to ensure accurate implementation of data models and warehouse solutions
- Provide business analysis and project support across EPIC workstreams, including requirements gathering and documentation, solution design and validation, and testing oversight and coordination
- Support migration and modernization efforts, including redesign of scripts and batch processes, data transformation and reporting solutions, and warehouse table and reporting enhancements
- Ensure solutions align with business operations and workflows, risk management and compliance requirements, and flexibility for case-by-case operational scenarios
- Assist in replacement or redesign of process batches and automation workflows, reporting and data pipelines, and operational and data-driven processes
Required Qualifications
- Strong SQL expertise, including data modeling and query design
- Experience designing and supporting data warehouse solutions
- Recent, hands-on experience designing and owning stored procedures and data warehouse tables (not limited to consuming or extracting data)
- Ability to operate independently at the data-layer level with minimal handoff
- Capability to proactively escalate unresolved dependencies or barriers and drive issues to resolution
- Focus on data architecture, development, and backend design, rather than report development or BI consumption
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
- Understanding of business processes and operational workflows
- Experience with testing, validation, and quality assurance
- Experience with LoanServ (highly preferred but not required)
- Background in financial services, lending, or mortgage servicing
- Experience supporting large-scale system migrations or SaaS transformations
- Familiarity with batch processing, automation, and reporting systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to bridge technical and business teams, including project coordination and stakeholder communication
- Attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and integrity
- Not a purely technical SQL role, with an emphasis on understanding business operations and processes
- Supports a multi-year enterprise transformation initiative (EPIC), with work across multiple domains including data, reporting, automation, and operational redesign
