Job Description
Robert Half is hiring a mid-level Database Developer for a long-term contract with a financial services team in Charlotte, NC. This onsite role focuses on supporting data-driven applications through backend workflows, database development, and cloud-enabled integrations. You will collaborate with engineers, analysts, architects, and stakeholders to deliver reliable data processing and reporting solutions.
What you will do
- Build, enhance, and support data workflows and backend processes using Python, Java, SQL, and Azure.
- Move and refine data across platforms by extracting, transforming, validating, and loading information between source and destination systems.
- Support cloud-based engineering solutions, including services for storage, processing, orchestration, monitoring, and analytics.
- Create and improve database objects such as queries, views, stored procedures, and transformation logic to improve performance and reliability.
- Integrate data across relational and non-relational environments while helping maintain consistent and accurate datasets.
- Develop, test, and support software components and services that connect internal platforms and external applications.
- Work with REST and GraphQL interfaces, including building or consuming endpoints, managing authentication, handling requests and responses, and supporting error handling.
- Monitor pipelines, APIs, and applications to troubleshoot defects, identify processing issues, and improve data quality and system performance.
- Produce and maintain dashboards and reports using tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
- Document technical workflows, specifications, transformation rules, and support procedures, collaborating via GitHub, code reviews, testing, and deployment.
- Maintain quality-focused development practices, including the ability to troubleshoot issues and ensure dependable outcomes.

Compensation & schedule
This is a contract position based in Charlotte, NC (onsite), with an hourly salary range of USD 40 - 50.
