Job Description

Leidos is seeking a Mid-Level Full Stack Software Engineer for the Chinook Program, supporting an Intelligence Community customer in an Agile DevSecOps environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions supporting the customer’s GEOINT mission
  • Participate in Agile development sprints, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
  • Build and maintain secure, containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS
  • Develop RESTful APIs and user-facing interfaces using modern front-end and back-end tooling (e.g., React, Node.js, Flask, Spring Boot)
  • Collaborate with mission users and product managers to refine requirements and improve user experience
  • Support DevSecOps pipelines and ensure code meets security and accreditation standards
  • Perform code reviews and mentor junior developers as needed
  • Resolve tasks prioritized by the team product owner

Requirements

  • US citizenship required per contract
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • Experience: 4-8 years of prior relevant experience (or Master’s with 2-6 years prior relevant experience)
  • Active Top Secret/SCI with ability to successfully pass a Polygraph examination
  • Proficiency with Web: HTML, CSS, JSON, Ajax, REST APIs
  • Proficiency with Object-oriented programming: Python, Java, or JavaScript
  • Proficiency with Advanced programming: Go
  • Proficiency with Front-end and back-end frameworks: React, Angular, Vue.js, jQuery, Spring Boot, Django, Node.js, Flask, or Svelte
  • Proficiency with Cloud development: AWS, Azure, or similar cloud platforms
  • Proficiency with Relational databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server
  • Proficiency with Operating systems: Windows, Linux
  • Proficiency with Version control: Git
  • Deep understanding of modern software design patterns and coding standards
  • Experience architecting, developing, and delivering complex software systems into production
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins) and agile collaboration tools (JIRA, Confluence)
  • Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS (C2S or GovCloud) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Understanding of secure coding practices and government system accreditation processes (e.g., RMF, STIGs)
  • Strong, self-motivated desire to learn new programming languages, tools, frameworks, and techniques

Preferred Qualifications

  • UI/UX experience for frontend web development
  • NoSQL database experience: OpenSearch/Elasticsearch
  • Cloud exposure across multi-cloud architectures: AWS, IBM, Google, Azure, Oracle
  • Specific AWS services: S3, SQS, SNS, EC2, CloudFormation, RDS
  • Experience working on a customer contract or in the Intelligence Community (IC)
  • Familiarity with geospatial tools and standards: GeoServer, PostGIS, OGC APIs, ESRI ArcGIS
  • Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code: Terraform, Ansible
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Developer, Security+, SAFe Practitioner or similar

Compensation

  • USD 87,100 - 157,450 per year
