Job Description

Step into a leadership role within JPMorgan Chase's Identity and Access Management group in Plano, onsite, where securing privileged access is a central priority. The Lead Software Engineer will deliver secure production code, steer architectural decisions, and champion AI-assisted engineering practices across the Software Development Life Cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Develops innovative software solutions, participates in design and debugging, and approaches problems with nontraditional thinking to craft effective outcomes.
  • Produces secure, high-quality production code and reviews or debugs code written by others.
  • Identifies opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve the operational stability of software applications and systems.
  • Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to probe architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for integration with existing systems and information architecture.
  • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness and adoption of new and leading-edge technologies.
  • Contributes to a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
  • Drives adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to enhance code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes, while establishing consistent validation standards and encouraging reuse of effective patterns.
  • Applies knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to maximize the value of automation.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering with 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and ensuring operational stability.
  • Advanced proficiency in Java and Python programming.
  • Strong design skills with Object Oriented Programming and Design Patterns.
  • Experience with authentication, authorization, encryption, and RBAC/ABAC concepts.
  • Proven ability to automate and implement continuous delivery methods.
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security across the SDLC.
  • Experience with cloud-native technologies and real-time messaging.
  • Comfort working with SQL and NoSQL databases within domains such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile.
  • Demonstrated leadership in using approved AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to set expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including handling of data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, and alignment with resiliency and security requirements; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption.
