Responsibilities

  • Deliver creative software solutions, from design through development to troubleshooting, with the ability to address complex technical challenges beyond routine approaches
  • Produce secure, high quality production code and provide reviews and debugging support for others
  • Drive adoption of enterprise authorized AI assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes, including AI assisted code review, refactoring, test strategy acceleration, and incident analysis, while establishing secure validation standards and promoting reusable patterns
  • Leverage the SDLC toolchain and automation capabilities to maximize value from automation efforts
  • Identify opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to boost overall stability of software applications and systems
  • Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs and their applicability to existing systems
  • Lead communities of practice to raise awareness and adoption of new technologies across Software Engineering
  • Foster a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect within the team

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering, plus 5+ years of applied experience leading design and building solutions
  • Expertise in Java, Spring Core, Spring Boot, REST APIs, JPA and relevant microservices frameworks
  • Expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, React and a popular UI test framework
  • Expert level experience with AI assisted / agentic development tools (for example GitHub Copilot and Claude Code) to accelerate full stack delivery, including scaffolding, refactoring, debugging, documentation, code review, and test generation (unit, integration, and E2E with Playwright), while enforcing secure usage and SDLC compliance, using agentic workflows (plan, build, test, validate) with strong human oversight
  • Experience practicing Spec Driven Development by translating business requirements into clear functional and non functional specs (API contracts, UI acceptance criteria, test cases) and driving implementation from those specs
  • Proven ability to lead effective use of approved AI assisted development tools, setting team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption
  • Familiarity with log and metric collection and monitoring technologies such as Grafana, AppDynamics, and Splunk; hands-on experience building CI/CD pipelines with Git, Maven, Jenkins, SonarQube, and Fortify
  • Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and Oracle, including schema design, performance tuning, and SQL optimization
  • Experience with event driven processing using Kafka; proficiency in Object Oriented Design (OOD) and Test Driven Development (TTD), with hands on experience in test automation frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, Playwright and Cucumber
