Job Description

This onsite role in Jersey City, NJ focuses on delivering secure, scalable backend solutions for Equities Broker Dealer and Prime Finance, with AI and GenAI integration across distributed systems. The position carries a salary range of USD 152,000 to 215,000 per year and requires at least five years of hands-on software engineering experience.

Responsibilities

  • Shape innovative software approaches, lead design and development, and troubleshoot complex problems to deliver scalable services across distributed microservices architectures
  • Write secure, production-ready code and review peers’ work to ensure engineering excellence
  • Integrate AI/ML and GenAI into production platforms, including LLMs, RAG pipelines, embeddings, vector databases, and MLOps for lifecycle management, monitoring, and governance
  • Proactively identify recurring issues and automate remediation to boost stability, resiliency, and performance
  • Lead architecture and design decisions that influence system scalability, performance, and long-term platform evolution
  • Spearhead evaluation sessions with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment with enterprise technology strategies
  • Advance platform modernization through cloud-native, event-driven, and microservices-based approaches
  • Collaborate with business, product, and operations teams to translate Prime Finance and Broker Dealer requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Ensure robust delivery across environments with strong emphasis on SDLC, unit/SIT/UAT testing, and production stability
  • Promote enterprise authorized AI assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes, while establishing validation standards and encouraging reuse of effective patterns
  • Apply SDLC tools and AI-assisted development capabilities to maximize automation value

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering plus at least five years of practical experience
  • Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability in large-scale enterprise environments
  • Advanced proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs within microservices in distributed systems
  • Strong experience with relational databases (Oracle/DB2) and/or NoSQL (MongoDB), plus CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and automation practices
  • Proficient across all SDLC phases
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and stakeholder communication skills
  • Proven ability to build high-volume, low-latency, mission-critical financial systems
  • Hands-on experience integrating AI/ML and GenAI into enterprise applications, including LLMs, RAG pipelines, embeddings, vector stores/databases, model evaluation, and production monitoring (MLOps)
  • Experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted development tools for coding, code review, test acceleration, and troubleshooting, with clear expectations for AI output validation
  • Solid understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security requirements; experience coaching teams on safe adoption
  • Practical collaboration across cross-functional teams in complex enterprise settings
