Lead Software Engineer

Location: Tampa, FL, onsite. Deloitte offers a role focused on leading the architecture and delivery of strategic healthcare data and AI/ML initiatives, including real-time data platforms and cloud-native solutions. You will provide technical leadership across cross-functional teams from proof of concept through production, supported by a discretionary annual incentive program.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead the design and delivery of healthcare data and AI/ML programs, enabling real-time access to health records.
• Build scalable, event-driven data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform using Pub/Sub, BigQuery, and Cloud SQL.
• Direct enterprise AI/ML solution delivery, covering architecture, deployment considerations, and integration within cloud-native ecosystems.
• Own end-to-end technical design from concept to production, including architecture decisions, integration patterns, and nonfunctional requirements.
• Act as technical lead and architect for a team of engineers, establishing direction, design standards, and quality expectations.
• Develop and supervise RESTful microservices in Python with FastAPI to expose healthcare data and support downstream applications and AI use cases.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and client stakeholders to align architecture with business goals, delivery timelines, and evolving requirements.
• Coordinate across functions to manage dependencies, risks, and trade-offs while maintaining momentum toward production delivery.
• Maintain regular communication with Engagement Managers, project teams, and a broad range of functional and technical stakeholders, escalating matters requiring engagement management attention.
• Lead client engagement workstreams, independently or with others, focused on process improvement and transformation, including implementing best practices and driving operational outcomes.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience designing and delivering enterprise technology solutions, including cloud-native systems, data platforms, or distributed architectures.
• 5+ years of experience architecting and implementing solutions on Google Cloud Platform, including Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Cloud SQL, or comparable cloud-native technologies.
• 7+ years of experience designing event-driven architectures and scalable real-time data pipelines for high-volume processing.
• 5+ years of experience leading or delivering AI/ML solution architecture, including deployment considerations and integration into enterprise platforms.
• 5+ years of experience building or leading development of RESTful APIs and microservices using Python and frameworks such as FastAPI.
• 7+ years of experience leading technical teams and translating evolving business requirements into production-ready solutions.
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience.
• Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
• Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment.
• Ability to travel 10 percent on average based on client needs.
