Lead Software Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with engineers and business partners to design, implement, document, and troubleshoot web service integrations including SOAP and REST across cloud environments.
• Direct the development, integration, and testing of distributed, scalable service infrastructures that handle high volumes and diverse functions for large user bases.
• Partner with Agile and Scrum teams to deliver guest experiences aligned with established architectural standards.
• Develop and validate code with thorough unit tests, and coordinate with product teams to address platform needs.
• Build backend services using Java and craft frontend components with JSP and React.js.
• Ensure security and reliability by applying authentication and encryption measures, while actively monitoring system health with Splunk, Dynatrace, and Datadog.
• Willingness to travel domestically up to 10% of the time.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of progressive experience in technology or software engineering.
• Proven experience delivering full software development life cycle within Agile environments.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Batch.
• Strong PostgreSQL skills.
• Foundational knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with microservice architecture.
• Proficiency building HTML, CSS, JSP, React.js front ends and RESTful/GraphQL APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with caching technologies such as Redis or AWS ElastiCache.
• Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, IAM), Docker, Kubernetes, and GitHub.
• Ability to drive full-stack architecture and code quality through rigorous testing, including unit tests with JUnit 5, Mockito, and Selenium.
• Experience maintaining and optimizing databases to ensure reliability, performance, and scalability.
