Lead Java Software Engineer
Job Description
Lead Java Software Engineer to join Resource Innovations' SaaS team as a hands-on technical lead responsible for the design, development, and deployment of cloud-based enterprise software. This remote role includes occasional in-person meetings for candidates in select metro areas. US residency is required; visa sponsorship is not available.
Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute across the full software development life cycle of cloud-based enterprise applications, including design, development, testing, implementation, and support in a fast-paced, distributed environment.
- Architect and build cloud-native solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and related frameworks. Utilize REST and SOAP web services, API Gateways, and relational databases to deliver scalable, high-performance systems while meeting performance, security, usability, reliability, and scalability targets.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following established practices and design patterns. Perform code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and contribute to ongoing improvements in development standards.
- Identify and resolve complex technical issues, provide production support, diagnose performance bottlenecks, and optimize applications for performance and scalability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with QA, DevOps, Product, and Business teams using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Jira, Confluence, Git) to deliver high-quality software on schedule.
- Stay current with evolving technologies, including AI-assisted development practices, and recommend improvements to tools, frameworks, and engineering processes.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 8+ years of software development experience building high-performance, reliable, and scalable enterprise applications.
- Languages & Frameworks: Proficiency in Java, Python, and Spring Boot.
- Databases: MySQL and at least one NoSQL database.
- Search & Observability: OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, log analytics, and APM tools.
- Integrations & Data: Apache Camel, messaging systems like RabbitMq, and data pipelines.
- Cloud & DevOps: AWS services, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes (preferred).
- Architecture: Microservices design and implementation experience.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with critical thinking skills.

Location and Compensation
Location: Madison, WI, remote work available. Salary: USD 140,000 - 160,000 per year. US residency required; visa sponsorship is not available.
