Lead Application Developer

FBL Financial Group, Inc. is hiring a Lead Application Developer to support the FAST application and the integration services built in C#. This hybrid role is based in West Des Moines, IA, with an emphasis on technical leadership, reliable production operations, and building durable ways of delivering FAST services to the business.

What you’ll do

• Analyze and administer the FAST product and its integration services.
• Design and develop FAST and the associated integration services.
• Implement and support FAST services in production.
• Provide technical leadership to the FAST IT team.
• Develop and maintain best practices for design, development, and deployment of FAST services.
• Maintain documentation that supports team processes and helps knowledge transfer for ongoing system changes.
• Manage day-to-day operations and administration for applicable production applications.
• Participate in regular meetings to keep business and IT stakeholders aligned on productivity objectives, goals, and concerns.

What you bring

• College degree or equivalent plus seven (7) years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of .Net / C# and SQL.
• Web Services experience.
• Knowledge of data handling methods and development techniques, plus one or more development programming languages.
• Working experience with Informatica and Agile is a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, stay results oriented, adjust to changing priorities, and maintain a calm, professional demeanor.
• Analytical mindset with demonstrated ability to communicate, connect, and collaborate.
