JIATF 401 Data Engineer
Job Description
CACI is seeking a JIATF 401 Data Engineer to help turn operational and intelligence data into clear, mission-relevant insights for C-UAS operations, assessments, acquisition decisions, and strategic planning. This onsite role in Alexandria, VA supports scalable data architectures, analytics pipelines, and AI-enabled solutions built for decision-making in dynamic environments.
Compensation: USD 86,600 - 181,800 per year. Employment type: Regular, Full time. Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI required to start (minimum: TS/SCI).

What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines to collect, integrate, process, and manage data from operational, intelligence, and enterprise sources.
- Use Maven Smart System (MSS), Palantir, Power BI, Python, and AI-enabled analytical tools to support mission analysis, operational assessments, and decision-making.
- Aggregate, clean, normalize, and transform large datasets to improve data quality, accessibility, and usability.
- Create dashboards, reports, data visualizations, and common operating picture products that make complex information actionable.
- Apply AI and machine learning to automate data processing, information extraction, pattern recognition, and predictive analytics.
- Perform data mining, data scraping, and data exploitation to identify relevant information in structured and unstructured data.
- Develop and maintain data models, databases, data dictionaries, and metadata repositories to support enterprise data management requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers, analysts, operators, and stakeholders to define data requirements and build analytical solutions aligned to mission objectives.
- Develop performance metrics and analytical frameworks to evaluate operational effectiveness, capability gaps, system performance, and mission outcomes.
- Produce technical documentation, data management plans, analytical reports, and executive-level briefings for senior military and civilian leadership.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with applicable policies, standards, and governance requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve data architectures, automation workflows, and analytical methodologies to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support operational assessments, technology evaluations, capability demonstrations, and acquisition efforts using data-driven analysis and decision support.
- Stay current on emerging AI technologies, data analytics methods, and mission-relevant data sources.
What you need
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance to start.
- Education and experience: BA/BS with 4+ years; AA/AS with 8+ years; or HS/GED with 10+ years.
- Experience working with large, complex datasets in enterprise-level data environments.
- Experience with Maven Smart System (MSS), Palantir, or similar data integration and analytics platforms.
- Proficiency with Python for data engineering, automation, analytics, and data transformation.
- Experience building interactive dashboards and visualizations using Power BI or comparable BI tools.
- Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools, machine learning, or advanced analytics to support operational decision-making.
- Knowledge of ETL/ELT, data integration methodologies, database management, and data architecture principles.
- Experience collecting, organizing, scraping, cleansing, and exploiting structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills, including the ability to create technical documentation, analytical reports, data products, and executive-level briefings.
- Ability to translate complex findings into concise, actionable recommendations for senior military and civilian leadership.
- Experience developing performance metrics and analytical frameworks for decision support.
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in dynamic operational environments.
Additional desired experience
- Experience supporting Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, Homeland Security, or Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) organizations.
- Familiarity with intelligence data sources, sensor data, operational data feeds, and mission command systems.
- Experience supporting CJADC2, data fusion, common operating picture development, or operational decision-support systems.
- Knowledge of cloud-based data environments, distributed computing architectures, and enterprise data governance practices.
- Experience integrating AI capabilities into operational workflows and mission support activities.
