Responsibilities
- Collaborate with systems, network, and database administrators to translate design specifications into integrated solutions, keeping users informed about vendor activity, issues, timelines, and project status
- Assess network designs, operating systems, and business needs; partner with departmental staff to identify opportunities for strategic enhancements; craft system architecture and network configurations that meet organizational goals and outline implementation plans
- Act as administrator for large and highly complex databases; define environment requirements and interoperability needs across platforms and technologies
- Oversee the integrity and security of County networks and endpoints; monitor for threats, apply defenses, retrieve data for investigations, set security standards, and conduct authorized forensics as needed; evaluate emerging threats and deploy security solutions
- Recommend hardware and software improvements to align with business objectives and implement changes to optimize performance and resolve resource constraints
- Serve as a technical expert in the assigned area, guiding professional staff, resolving complex issues, and contributing to strategic planning for system and application development or enhancement
- Lead the work of subordinate IT staff, directing project teams to ensure successful execution of initiatives
- Prepare reports, correspondence, and technical documentation; participate in committees and training sessions to share knowledge and drive improvements
- Perform other job-related duties as required or assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Six (6) years of experience performing development and analysis in a complex information systems environment
- Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered
Screening and Compliance
- Successful completion of a post-offer employment medical examination and background investigation
- Adherence to all County safety guidelines
- Completion of all FEMA training assigned to this position
- Possession of a valid New Mexico driver’s license by the date of hire and maintenance of a valid license during employment
- Complete required supervisor training, if applicable

- Work is typically performed in an indoor office environment with occasional travel to other locations
- Work environments may include noise, dust, and odors, and may involve confined spaces on occasion
- Occasional evenings, holidays, and weekend work may be required
